Back to Basics in Lawrence County Tennessee

It's been awhile since I have posted to this.  A few things have happened. Most know that Paul Rosson lost the Write in Vote, which was predictable.  I would just think that if he really had people coming up to him asking him to continue with the election as a write in- he wold have taken in to account that those were the one that voted for him in the primary.  And as I had said before, Write ins are hard to achieve under any circumstances.  Lawrence County elections to say the least were entertaining.  The Sheriffs race became the headline after Kenny Taylor, came in second to Jimmy Brown. The 3rd place went to Mike Risner, who was not a resident of Lawrence County.  Kenny Taylor decided to contest the election because of Risners residency. Now I heard this a month before the election,  I can believe Taylor didn't kow this before the election.  He felt that if Risner was not in the election he would have gotten his votes.  And at the time he was the Sheriff, he didn't check into his opponents.  After a few hearings Taylor lost his fight for a run off election and Jimmy Brown remains sheriff.

SO we have another election upon us - Some local, state and federal.  I think the big  one in Lawrence County is between Joey Hensley and Calvin Moore.  And again I say--- IF YOU DON'T VOTE DON'T COMPLAIN.

And for awhile Till  some one gets me going - I'm getting back to my original thoughts for this Blog- The best parts of Lawrence County TN.

Lawrence County Tennessee TN Executive Rosson to be Write in Canidate

To clarify a few things. I recieved a few Comments tonight from my Blog from May 15th on the Primary Election and the upcoming Election - August 5th, 2010.
http://www.lawrencecotn.net/2010/05/lawrence-county-tennessee-tn-election_15.html

Above is the original Blog and the comments are below my statement.
It was assumed because I am not for Paul Rosson and against the write in Ballot that I am a republican.   I am a registered Democrat and have been for 35 years. However I do not vote party, I vote for the canidate.

Also, I have not decided who I will vote for.  I have yet to hear anything from the canidates as far as there views and how they plan to make Lawrence County Tennessee a better place. Signs on the roadways and a few snappy slogans will not help me make a decision.

It is also my belief that who you vote for is a personal choice. We do not have to agree on the same canidate. You do not have to share who you are going to vote for.
From my statements you all are pretty sure who I'm not voting for... But this is what makes us a democracy. As I have said before JUST VOTE- Its your RIght!

Also, according to the response from Anonymous- and this is not verified- and he did not give his name- He/She says - Paul Rosson will be a Write in for County Execitive in the August 3rd Election.  So If true- The waters have been muddied.  But I have a question and would appreciate an answer from anyone who has knowledge on this.

If J.Mac Chandler won the Democratic Nomination in the Primary than Does Paul Rosson run as an Independent ?  Also, Who will/does the Democratic Party Back? If you donate to Lawrence County Democratic Party - who gets the backing?

Lawrence County Government Paul Rosson County Executive

So, yes- (BELOW)  I have vented on the present County Executive, Paul Rosson.  And I am sure there are supporters out there reading this, thinking I'm the *itch.  However, all Mr. Rosson had to do was - SOMETHING, ANYTHING..... But he didn't.   I am assumming he thought I would disappear.  I have been dealing with this for 7 months. I am tired of animals being dropped off at my home, with no alternatives.  It was Mr. Rosson who said he would have someone come get these dogs. He said he would have someone call.  But, I'm sure, as I walked out of his office, he forgot all about it.
As far as the Bus Turn Around... Think about it, how would you like it if the Lawrence County decided to come on your land and use it for what ever.  Again, it is brought to his attention and oh, yes,he talked a good game but has yet to do anything.  Since speaking with him, I have sent him a few emails, went un-answered.  But it is my understanding that my email circled around the County Offices.  Now a message was given to my husband via a county official for me, and I quote, "Tell your wife to calm down, we'll take care of this."
First anyone has a message for me- Don't go through my husband.  If I came to you than show me the common courtesy and  come to me.
Second, I wouldn't be so aggrivated, if the issues were addressed.  I was told an easement for the bus turn around was being drawn up, the attorneys offices even called me.... a month or so ago .  How long does it take to type something.  It took them 6 months  to say they were doing an easement, what 6 months to type it.

I understand that politics can be complex and many issues  can not be resolved.  I understand that the government on any level can not please everyone.  I have other issues with the County that I have not gone into, however, I do not think that every decision can or will go my way, I understand there are many factors to be considered.  BUT I do not understand why they do not just address the situations. Period. If they think patting me on the head, Ignoring it, will  make me go away. Just the Opposite, It just pisses me off.

It also makes me wonder, If it takes 7 months and counting on this.. What the hell else are they dragging there feet on.  I think it took less time to buy and renovate the bank building for his new offices, THAT YES, we will be paying for... for years to come.

This is just another instance of Lawrence County Beaurocracy.

A Little background.
I have No children in the Lawrence County Schools. I have no children that live at home.
The County in there infinite wisdom decided thay needed a School Bus Turn Around.
With out checking the Tax Records, they brought in County dozers and trucks tore up my land put in a road - Bus Turn Around. My husband questioned them while they were doing this- and they said the school board sent them out.  They were told they did not have permission and they were on Private Property.  This was in October of 2009.

We contacted Paul Rosson wh said he would check into it.
Than they begin passing the buck. Rosson tell us to call the Bus Superintendent. Spoke with him 1 time, has never "been in"  his office since and never returned a phone call.  We have spoke to Paul Rosson, Board of Education Director, County Roads, and the Bus Superintendent.
All we ask at the beginning that they  draw up a temporary easement for use of the Bus Turn Around and they claim liability for its use. It is now May.  I get no responses and am totally ignored.
They took may land, tore it up, put in a turn around and no one claims responsibility, And continue to use it.  Any calls go unanwered.  THere plan I'm sure is to ignore me. School lets out soon.  However, I would think that by tearing up my land - that would be destruction of private property, Criminal trespassing, and at the very least, every time the bus drives across my land they are trespassing.
Now to some this my be stupid.  But it is not just the fact they put in the turn around on my property, It they ignore you.  And feel they have the right.  And the more They screw me around the madder I get.  I stopped for the last time at the Board of Ed. Of course the Director was out.  SO I have shut down and blocked the turn around.  This is my land and never had the right to put in the turn around from the beginning.  THey choose to ignore me.
And ultimately they do not really need the turn around. The bus can go another 1/2 mile to another road to turn around.

I also find it totally amazing that whenever there is an issue that any county official doesn't want to deal with- They are out of the office.

PET PEEVES with Paul Rosson Lawrence County Executive

As Residents of Lawrence County Tennesse we have the right to know and I think decide where our tax money goes. I live outside the city limits in rural Lawrence County, But I am a TAX PAYING RESIDENT of Lawrence County TN.  The county budgets 5000.00 to the Lawrence County Humane Society. Sounds simple. However, unless you live in the city limits of Lawrenceburg, TN. They will not take a dog. Hell, they won't even take your phone call.  Because, I live in a rural part of the county, people drop off there unwanted dogs and I pretty much get stuck with them. I have no  place to take them.

I have called the Humane Society and only once got an answer- who would not take the dog, but told me if someone called looking for a med. black dog, they would contact me.
Right now I have 3 Dogs that have been dropped off.  They wouldn't leave. I have paid there vet expenses for spading, shots, and everything else.  The only way the Lawrence County Humane Society will take a dog is if it comes through Lawrenceburg.

I actually understand why people in this county drop of dogs. What are there options?? We have none.  But if I would get caught dropping off a dog in the city limits - I would be arrested and or fined.
I went to Paul Rosson to  discuss this. I told him, I did not want these dogs, and I had issues with the Lawrence County Humane Society AND if they took County Money, no matter how much, they should accept dogs throught out the county.  His response- He would contact the group personally, I would be contacted, they would come get the dogs. Oh and than says, I'm sure to make me feel like the bad guy, and guilty, "We will probrably put them down".  So they can kill them, but you get bet your ass, If I even threatend to shoot them, I'd make the evening news. Oh I am still waiting for someone to call and thats been since January.  I have called and emailed Paul Rosson, I get no response or he says for me to call this number or that number that no one answers.

I also have these questions about the Lawrence County Humane Society. If they accept money from the City and County.  If the are a non profit organization - have they filed a 501 Non profit form?  Are they audited? TWO simple questions and I have never got an answered.

Do a search on the Humane Society- No Physical address.

http://www.animalshelter.org/shelters/Lawrence_County_Humane_Society_rId4825_rS_pC.html

See what dogs are available for adoption - NONE

And as far as supporting the Animal Shelter? What the hell for?

I guess if you "put them down" as soon as you get them- no need to put them up for adoption.

So what are Lawrence County Residents suposed to do with unwanted Pets??? Well, I quess the only way to be heard-  Take them to Paul Rossons house.  But whats he going to do? He lives outside Lawrenceburg.  I  won't post his address - but I'm sure a google search will get it for you.
